0.2 · Why This Dream Matters
Our dream is not simply about students reading the Bible more often. It is about God’s Word shaping the way students see, think, choose, and live.
Your generation does not lack information. What you need is a trustworthy way to make sense of it.
Imagine putting on a pair of coloured glasses. The world around you has not changed, but the lens affects what you notice, how you understand what you see, and what feels important.
Something similar happens with the deeper beliefs we carry about life. They shape how we answer questions such as:
Who am I?
What makes a person valuable?
What is success?
What is right and wrong?
What is freedom?
What is life for?
This deeper way of seeing is often called a worldview. A worldview is the lens through which you make sense of life: who you are, what matters, what is true, and how you should live.
But a lens does not form by itself. Something is shaping it.
Family and friends shape us. School and college shape us. Stories, films, music, advertising, news, and culture shape us.
Social media can influence what appears normal, attractive, successful, or desirable. Algorithms and AI increasingly influence what we see, what gets recommended, and which ideas appear again and again.
None of these influences is automatically bad. Many can teach us something valuable. But influence can be continuous, personalised, and difficult to notice.
Sometimes something begins to feel normal simply because we have seen it often. But something feeling normal does not make it true.
And when different beliefs shape the lens, the same situation can tell very different stories.
Imagine receiving an exam result much lower than you expected. The result is the same, but different lenses can tell very different stories.
“My marks tell me how valuable I am.”
“Everyone else is moving ahead. I am being left behind.”
“Success matters most. I have to get back on top somehow.”
A biblical worldview helps us ask different questions:
Does this result tell the whole truth about who I am?
Where does my worth ultimately come from?
What can I learn from this?
What would faithfulness look like now?
The result has not changed. But the lens changes what the result means to you.
So the challenge is not simply receiving more information. It is learning how to recognise what is true.
Finding an answer is becoming easier. Deciding whether an answer is true, wise, and trustworthy is still difficult.
AI can give you an answer. You still need to ask whether it is true.
AI can offer several interpretations. You still need to examine which one fits the passage.
AI can suggest options. You still need wisdom to choose.
AI can support learning. It should not replace your thinking.
The harder question is often no longer, “Where can I find an answer?” It is: “How do I know which answer deserves my trust?”
That requires discernment: learning to ask, Is it true? Is it good? Where is this idea leading? What is it shaping me to become?
Discernment needs somewhere trustworthy to stand.
Having a biblical worldview does not mean choosing the Bible instead of science, education, research, or technology. It does not mean forcing a Bible verse into every subject.
It means allowing Scripture to shape the convictions from which we think and live.
The Bible helps us understand God, human dignity, good and evil, our brokenness, wisdom, responsibility, justice, love, purpose, and hope.
When Scripture increasingly shapes the way we understand God, ourselves, other people, and the world, we call that a biblical worldview.
The Bible does not simply add more information to your life. It helps shape the lens through which you understand life.
And there is something more. Reading Scripture for yourself also brings the joy of discovering what God has actually said, seeing connections you had not noticed before, and watching His truth begin to make sense of your own life.
A trustworthy lens is meant to travel with you, not stay inside your Bible-reading time.
Biblical thinking can travel into science, medicine, engineering, technology, business, law, education, research, the arts, and public life.
Then you can ask more than “Can we do this?” You can also ask: Should we? Is it good? Who will benefit? Could someone be harmed? Does this respect human dignity? How can what I learn and create serve other people?
It is not about adding Bible verses to every subject. It is about biblical truth shaping the person who studies the subject.
But a trustworthy lens only helps if you know how to return to Scripture for yourself.
Parents, pastors, teachers, books, videos, courses, study tools, and AI can all help. These can be gifts.
But there will be moments when someone else cannot simply hand you the answer. You will face new questions, different interpretations, difficult choices, and situations no course could have predicted.
We hope students gradually move from “Someone told me the Bible says...” toward “I opened the passage. I looked carefully. I understand why I believe this.”
That is not independence from God’s Word. It is growing dependence on God’s Word rather than permanent dependence on other people’s answers.
More information does not automatically give us wisdom.
More voices do not automatically lead us to truth.
More powerful tools do not remove the need for discernment.
That is why we still dream of a generation with open Bibles.
Not a dream left behind by the AI age. A dream made even more important by it.
A dream like this needs more than inspiration. It needs a way to become real.
