Born Again Course For teenagers and young adults Short · Interactive · Self-paced Born Again Gateway to Enjoying the Bible What did Jesus mean when he said, “You must be born again”? Bring your questions, open the Bible and explore his answer one step at a time. Why begin with being born again? Because the Bible is about more than information The Bible says that sin has broken our relationship with God. Through Jesus, God offers forgiveness, reconciliation and new life. Jesus described this new life as being born again. This restored relationship gives us a new reason to open the Bible. We are not simply learning facts about God. We begin to read his Word as part of learning to know him, trust him and walk with him. That is why being born again is the gateway to enjoying the Bible. You are welcome here You do not need previous Bible knowledge or a Christian background. You may already follow Jesus, come from another religious background, be unsure what you believe, or simply be curious. People from any religion or background are welcome. You are free to ask questions, read the Bible for yourself and take time to think about what you discover. What you will explore Four questions lead the way 1. Ages 13–16 · Before You Start Before You Begin, A Few Things We Want You to Know If we were sitting together with your Bible on the table, I would not begin by telling you how wonderful the course is. I would first tell you what it will ask from you, where it may feel difficult, and why I still think the effort can be worth it. I want to be honest with you before you begin. At times, this course may feel slow, repetitive, demanding, difficult, or even boring. You may reread the same passage, write something down, check it, and change your first answer. You do need to be willing to slow down, try, and keep coming back. We are telling you this now because we do not want anything important to surprise you later. The course asks something real from you because it is trying to give you something lasting: the ability to open the Bible and study it carefully for yourself. Choose the right starting point Is This the Right EnjoyBible Course for You? Your age matters, but so does the way you are ready to learn. There is no prize for choosing the hardest course. The better starting point is the one that gives you enough help to keep going while still asking you to think for yourself. Foundational Course Choose this if you would do better with shorter activities, simpler instructions, and more help before longer notebook-based study. Starting more gently is completely fine. Ages 13–16 · This Course Choose this course if you are ready to read carefully, write short notebook responses, practise, check your work, and gradually do more without someone telling you every next step. Older Learner? If you want a more mature learning environment with longer and more independent study, choose the EnjoyBible course designed for older learners. You are learning a skill Why You Will Sometimes Read the Same Passage Again You can understand the definition of Observation in a few minutes. Becoming someone who actually notices what is in a passage takes practice. The same is true of Interpretation. So yes, there will be times when I ask you to read the passage again, mark something, write a short answer, check it, and improve it. A screen-only lesson may feel like READ → UNDERSTAND → MOVE ON EnjoyBible will often ask you to BIBLE → TRY → WRITE → CHECK → REVISE → PRACTISE It is possible to understand a teacher’s answer and still feel lost when you open a new passage alone. I do not want that for you. We are working toward the day when you can say, “I know how to begin.” One limitation I do not want to hide This Is Text-Based Online Training A webpage cannot look at your face and notice that you are confused. It cannot see that your attention has disappeared, that you are tired after school, or that you are clicking “Next” without really doing the study. A live teacher might notice those things. This course cannot always do that. It is also mostly a reading-and-doing course, not a video course. If you strongly prefer learning only through videos or constant live interaction, some pages may feel harder than you expect. I would rather tell you that before you enrol. What studying will actually look like You Will Move Between the Course, the Bible, and Your Notebook Keep your Bible and PBS Notebook beside you. The course gives the next instruction, but the real study happens as you return to Scripture, notice what is there, and write your own work. You will not be asked to write essays. Often a few words, a marked phrase, a question, or one clear sentence is enough. That is not because the course suddenly becomes unfriendly. It is because a good teacher eventually has to let you try. The goal is for these habits to become yours. Our dream is to help you become a student who knows how to open the Bible, discover its message carefully, and keep growing with Scripture. One learner. One open Bible. One passage read carefully. The Bible is meant to travel with you Bible Study Is Bigger Than Finishing “Bible Time” What you discover in Scripture should not stay trapped inside “Bible time.” Over time, God’s truth can begin shaping how you handle friendships, family, schoolwork, success, failure, money, technology, choices, temptation, purpose, and the future. This does not mean forcing a Bible verse into every school subject. It means letting God’s truth shape the questions you ask, the values you carry, and the kind of person you are becoming. Know the commitment before you begin Give Yourself Time This is a substantial self-paced course. Plan for about 20 hours in total, spread across many sittings. Most of the time, 30–45 minutes is enough for one study period. You may take longer, especially if notebook-based study is new to you. That is completely fine. Careful Bible study is not a race. When you reach a genuine Selah pause or another good stopping point, you may stop and return later without starting the page again. I want you to know this now At the End, There Is an Open-Book Review You Need to Pass You will not finish simply by reaching the last page. Before You Decide to Join Here Is What This Course Is Really Like Please read this page carefully before you decide. If we were sitting together before you began, there are a few things I would want to tell you openly. At times, this course may feel slow, repetitive, demanding, difficult, or even boring. I would rather tell you that now than let you discover it halfway through and wonder whether something has gone wrong. If you usually skim long descriptions, please do not skip the final “Before You Decide” section. It will help you decide honestly whether this is the right time to begin. Why it may feel slower than expected Why This Course May Feel Slower You are learning a skill, not only listening to an explanation. Knowing what Observation means is not the same as becoming observant. Knowing the steps of Interpretation is not the same as learning to interpret a passage carefully. That is why you will reread, mark, write, check, revise, and practise again. Video courses such as Udemy, LinkedIn Learning, YouTube, and others can be excellent for explanation and demonstration. This course will often ask you to pause the lesson, open your Bible, and do the study yourself. A video-first lesson may feel like WATCH → UNDERSTAND → MOVE ON EnjoyBible will often ask you to BIBLE → TRY → WRITE → CHECK → REVISE → PRACTISE There is a difference between “I understood what the teacher did” and “I can now begin doing this myself.” We are working toward the second. Online Training Has Real Limits A webpage cannot always see when you are confused, tired, rushing, distracted, or quietly giving up. If we were sitting together, a teacher might notice and help you slow down. An online course cannot always do that. We can make instructions clearer and give you better places to pause. We cannot supply your attention for you. We know your week may already be full We Have Tried to Build This Around Real Learners If you are studying Classes, assignments, exams, projects, placements, friendships, fellowship, travel, and digital distraction may already fill your week. If you are working Deadlines, shifts, meetings, travel, family responsibilities, ministry, and simple tiredness may make regular study difficult. This course has grown out of decades of teaching Personal Bible Study skills and noticing where learners become confused, rush ahead, lose confidence, depend too quickly on ready-made answers, or stop practising. Teaching this way takes longer because we are not only explaining the method. We are giving you room to practise it.
